Santoiolo IGT Umbria Carbernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah

Fermentation and aged in steel for 12 months, followed by further aging in French and American oak barrels, and an additional 12 months of in-bottle refining. A dense ruby red, with violet reflections.  The nose offers good complexity: fruit jam, marasca cherry and black currant, spicy tones of vanilla, licorice root, chocolate, with graphite mineral notes in the finish.  The wine is very well-balanced on the palate, it’s warm, compact, with soft tannins   Excellent persistence, and dominated by fruity references.  Best combined with meats and great traditional Umbrian dishes.
